Non-Traditional Pathways to Additional Certification or Rank Change

Proficiency Evaluation is contained within 16 KAR 5:030. This pathway allows you to request an evaluation from an approved Education Preparation Provider (EPP) to determine your level of proficiency in the certification area being sought. Depending on your level of proficiency, the EPP may develop an Educator Learning Plan that outlines the additional work you will need to complete. Similar to the University-Based Alternative Route, the candidate must have an offer of employment from a district and complete the Educator Learning Plan.
