The Combating Inappropriate Student-Teacher Relationship Task Force was chartered by the EPSB for the purpose of reviewing current practices and policies relating to inappropriate student- teacher relationships and making recommendations to various stakeholders to combat such relationships. The Task Force’s objective was to develop and recommend to the Board policies and/or procedures that could work toward preventing inappropriate student-educator relationships.
In April 2016, the EPSB accepted the two recommendations that the Task Force made specifically to the EPSB and voted to proceed with development and implementation. With these recommendations, the Task Force included that the EPSB use the Model Code of Ethics for Educators as a resource and consider adopting it if applicable.
As a result, the EPSB created the Code of Ethics Review Committee. The Committee was tasked with reviewing the Professional Code of Ethics for Kentucky Certified School Personnel and the Model Code of Ethics for Educators.
